When moving the mouse cursor across a drawing in AutoCAD, it pauses repeatedly instead of moving smoothly over the screen. The mouse cursor problem is most likely related to the version of DraftSight, probably not your Linux or Ubuntu configuration. What is model space in AutoCAD? It's always a good idea to make sure you're using a graphics card driver that has been tested and recommended by Autodesk for the AutoCAD or AutoCAD based product. But when panning or zooming in and out (using the mouse wheel) my viewport zooms along with paper space voiding out the lock that the viewport has and changes the scale causing numerous problems. The AutoCAD Status Bar (the bottom bar with coordinates and OSNAP, pictured to the right) jumps up and down as you move your cursor around your drawing. Due to system corruption caused by a failed kernel upgrade (fixed with sudo apt-get purge ) I had to update to a newer version of Draftsight but found the slow mouse cursor made the program.
